Difference between definitions of quality and defence of agreement

Quality is an attachment (be it, attraction or concern).  Purpose of this attachment is, to increase friends and reduce enemies. Somehow this is the only purpose of all work. The degree of intensity and durability of the attachment depends on consistent fulfilment of the requirement and expectation of one another. Product is an afterthought.  Product, service of a utility or, the ability to fulfil requirements, act as means of the quality. If means (product) do not serve the end (quality), the means itself or dependency on the means, is incorrect and harmful.

 

As long as a product (e.g., possible means of quality) exists, perceived value arising out of the ownership of an object or product or services or abilities, causes an attachment. People, for this reason, consider that product has a quality. Ownership of a product in a sense, becomes a cause of an attachment with products. This attachment causes agreement in business and defence of the agreement.  This idea of quality where means override the aim, has a limited purpose in the end of differences or minimize conflict between parties of a contract.

 

When thinking goes deeper, it becomes more clear that a product has no quality. Products can continue changing. Product is, essentially, a test kit of judging a character of one another in the pursuit of converting enemy into friend. A sophisticated gun is very much sought after by Bin Laden but, is a useless thing for Buddha. For the aim to make Bin Laden a friend, the gun and its quality (cause of attachment) are the means. Quality, is therefore, a search of the higher purposes of togetherness, and making a choice of products that fulfil needs of one another as much as possible. Quality in other words is, about problem solving, by involving any number of means to achieve it.

 

Gandhi in the struggle of Indian independence, preferred hand woven clothing over mill made sophisticated cloths. This was his understanding of the definition of quality and, how do products find their purposes in quality. Hand woven clothing served the cause of empowerment of Indian society and economic independence. Technical property, however sophisticated, of the clothing was unimportant.  In many countries, where industrialization is driven by a motive of capitalist control, it ignored the social aspects. This did not really work, as the definition of quality is misunderstood. Quality leaders must understand the aspects in a product that contribute to the Quality. Happiness is the only language of Quality. Quality, in a final note, increases the sphere of the oneness.

 

Price is equivalent to a resistance in electrical conduction. It acts as a balancing factor between demand as voltage and supply as current. A high priced product would have a fewer buyer because prices act as a deterrent or a resistance to flow. This price, is an indication of a caution of high risk to users. Quality is equalizer and does not cause difficulties, differences and conflict. A gun or any weapon cannot be given free. Most part of the price is, to cover the risk, cost or liabilities.  On the other hand, water is available freely because it is without any trade risk.

 

Thinking to work for peace and beauty and oneness in all, are the examples, of going in the direction to find correct definition of the quality. Work for weapons, any means of controls and other materials, however technologically advanced are a definition of defences of agreements and differ with the definition of quality.

 

High growth organizations like Facebook or Google or Microsoft or Reliance have a focus on finding a right definition of quality. These are need oriented and not merely to fulfil the demand. Need is intuitive, natural and cannot be expressed in words and is not product specific. Demand is forceful and subject to penalty if not fulfilled. Mother knows the need of children even before children can express it. She offers them whatever she easily can, to serve the need without asking them. A hotel on the other hand, fulfils the demand. Food on order is exactly specified and against a price, and this agreement is subject to a penalty if the obligation from either side fails.

 

Idea of product specification and conformity to a specification is not about quality but enforcement of agreement. Quality is unrestricted by the product and its specifications. As long as the aim is determined, means to achieve it can be many. Quality is cause of the attachment with an aim of increasing friends while enforcement of agreement in business of products is a defence against the enemy. Therefore, these two definitions are parallel, complimentary as well as in conflict.

“Work is war” fits to a product oriented, demand supply or strategic situations. Definition of the Quality aims at a success of agreement.

“Work is worship” fits to a total quality where customers and providers are one, and not in conflict of interest. This reunion or remembering the definition of quality, is a cause of the joy and effortless work, without an agreement, control and the defence. This end of worries is called the assurance.
